MUTANT AND STRONG

HELLO NINJAS! :D

Wow, I haven't updated this blog in so long, I'm really sorry for being too caught up in life, lol. So yeah anyway, I can't remember when was the last time we had a meeting and I miss you guys :'( Hihi, okay we need to have a meeting, asap! So we can actually gather and talk about our lives and about our......non-functioning club. Haha no I'm serious, what had happened to our club? It's like DEAD! No kidding girls, can anyone recall what was our last activity? The only thing that popped into my mind was the picnic we had over at Taman Aman, simply because I made the mouthwatering pasta, hihi ok just kidding, because we had so much fun learning about the lake(?) and the wastage system and such. I guess we, the seniors should plan some fun activities that could be done after Raya, am I right? ;) So don't sweat ninjas, we will plan cool and fun fun fun things to do okaaay!

By the way, I heard Puan Hafizah's due date is coming soon, is it true?
If it is then we all should pray for her so she'd do fine throughout the delivery, hihi! ;)
Amin!

Our cool picnic at Taman Aman will be updated after the August Test, alright?
Stay tuned ;)

p/s: We should call ourselves NINJAS! HEHE OK BYE NINJAS :p

Selamat Menyambut Ramadhan!
;)

Big hugs and sloppy kisses from,
Een Ghazali hihi :*

Minggu Kerjaya

Minggu Kerjaya was held on the first week of April. We as in Rain Water Harvesting members had to open a booth on the particular week, so we did, obviously (:
Before the Minggu Kerjaya was held, our president, Nur Shahirah & our awesome CM of Blog, Nurain Nazuraa did some preparation.

Cool, i just realized that Shiro was on the computer. *BUUURN :P*

This is called the dual flush (i think).

We had a great experience, sitting on the ground, pushing soil into our small little bottle. Erm & guess what? There was this one time where a stone got stucked in the hole of the bottle, funny isnt it? -.- So we had to redo :'(

Very nice, right -.-

During Minggu Kerjaya

All of us came to school & headed straight to Gallery. We setted up our booth as fast as possible since the thing was about to start. Time was running fast D:

At around 9 am, students started to crowd. We were pretty nervous & scared but we did our very best :B

All of us did our respective duties with full of dedication. Thank you Thank you.

Shahirah, Izzy & Fatini = Explain
Een & Syafiqah = Quiz
Roha, Iqffa, Katty & Izzah = Selling

During break, Roha, Iqffa, Katty & Izzah did the selling in the canteen. We made quite a lot of profit out of the 'Ais Krim Malaysia.' They were pretty saleable, HEHEHHE. So bangga kays :P

After recess, at around 10am, a Robotic Competition between Form 1 - Form 3 was held. Quite a number classes joined this activity. Thank you for your support ;)

TADATATAAAAAAAAA.
SRI AMANIANS ROBOTS :D

There are more robots, but the pictures are with Katty (:

However, a group withdrew since they did not have enough materials, sad isn't it? :(

But they were still happy. Semangat berjuang, EHEHHE :P

Rain Water Harvesting members had a splendid time handling the booth on both days. We hope to do such activities in the future. :)

A lot of booths were setted up during the Minggu Kerjaya as well :)

Thank you & so long : )

Hugs & Muaxes,

What could be better?

Today, some of us went to buy stuffs to use to clean the rain water tank. Hurrah!
We bought a total of 4 brushes, 3 sponges and a bottle of detergent that comes with refil.
Not forgetting, we also bought a book entitled '50 Ways To Save The Earth' =D Now we can 'recycle' the book and pass the informations to our friends! Isn't that just great?By the way, we are no longer known as Rain Water Harvesting. We are now known as River Ranger. The picture of the stuffs we bought =D (ignore the cat, it lunged right when i pressed the capture button, haha..maybe the brush that has the same colour as it does is attracting it, HAHa)

Water Saving Tips

Here are a few tips on saving water indoors :

1. Never pour water down the drain when there may be another use for it such as watering a plant or garden, or for cleaning.
2. Verify that your home is leak free. Many homes have hidden water leaks. Read your water meter before and after a two-hour period when no water is being used. If the meter does not read exactly the same, there is a leak.
3. Repair dripping faucets by replacing washers. If your faucet is dripping at a rate of one drop per second, you can expect to waste 2,700 gallons per year. This adds to the cost of water and sewer utilities, or can strain your septic system.
4. Check for toilet tank leaks by adding food coloring to the tank. If the toilet is leaking, color will appear in the toilet bowl within 30 minutes. Check the toilet for worn out, corroded or bent parts. Most replacement parts are inexpensive, readily available and easily installed. (Flush as soon as test is done, since food coloring may stain tank.)
5. If the toilet handle frequently sticks in the flush position letting water run constantly, replace or adjust it.
6. Place a bucket in the shower to catch excess water and use this to water plants. The same technique can be used when washing dishes or vegetables in the sink.
7. In the shower, turn water on to get wet; turn off to lather up; then turn back on to rinse off. Repeat when washing your hair.
8. Install a toilet dam or displacement device such as a bag or bottle to cut down on the amount of water needed for each flush. Be sure installation does not interfere with the operating parts.
9. Insulate your water pipes. You'll get hot water faster and avoid wasting water while it heats up.
10. Store drinking water in the refrigerator. Don't let the tap run while you are waiting for cool water to flow.
11. Do not use running water to thaw meat or other frozen foods. Defrost food overnight in the refrigerator or use the defrost setting on your microwave.
12. Kitchen sink disposals require lots of water to operate properly. Start a compost pile as an alternate method of disposing of food waste instead of using a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals also can add 50 percent to the volume of solids in a septic tank, which can lead to malfunctions and maintenance problems.
13. Consider installing an instant water heater on your kitchen sink so you don't have to let the water run while it heats up. This will reduce water heating costs for your household.
14. When washing dishes by hand, fill one sink or basin with soapy water. Quickly rinse under a slow-moving stream from the faucet.
15. Never install a water-to-air heat pump or air-conditioning system. Newer air-to-air models are just as efficient and do not waste water.
16. Don't let water run while shaving or washing your face. Brush your teeth first while waiting for water to get hot, then wash or shave after filling the basin.
17. Install water softening systems only when necessary. Save water and salt by running the minimum amount of regenerations necessary to maintain water softness. Turn softeners off while on vacation.
18. If you have a well at home, check your pump periodically. Listen to hear if the pump kicks on and off while water is not being used. If it does, you have a leak.
19. Avoid flushing the toilet unnecessarily. Dispose of tissues, insects and other similar waste in the trash rather than the toilet.

Do your part in saving water =)

Save Our River!

Save our river!
we all know that nowadays,
our river is getting dirty and dirtier..
and it is called water pollution..
right now,who is to be blamed?
don't blame others!
we should blame ourselves!
do you all know that river
is one of the natural resources for water?
the WATER that we drink everyday,
and we use in our daily life!
do you know that?
do you realize that 2-3 decades ago,
our river was clean, very clean..
this is because the people cared about their future,
their heir..
but now,
most of the people are selfish!
and right now,
we have to work together
and save our river
for the future..
Please!
